U-Shin focuses on corporate governance as an important business challenge in order to promote a sound management and prove worthy of social trust.
For this reason, we strive for the enhancement of timely, fair and clear disclosures by observing relevant laws and regulations as well as securing prompt decision-making and transparency of the management.
U-Shin has established Compliance and Risk Management Committee in order to improve fairness and transparency of business activities, fulfill social responsibility, and respond accurately to the diversity of management risk.
U-Shin has established “U-Shin Code of Conduct” and “U-Shin Action Guideline” in our Compliance Manual in order to recognize correctly and fulfill not only legal compliance, but also corporate social responsibility, and put them into effect across our organization including group companies in Japan and overseas. In addition, we provide various educational programs such as Competition Law Training to enhance employee awareness of the importance of compliance.
U-Shin has established an internal reporting system called “Corporate Ethics Hotline System” to enable us to promptly grasp any violation of compliance or suspected violation and take appropriate corrective measures for the purpose of enhancing and reinforcing our compliance system. In addition to our internal consultation service, we have introduced an external consultation service by outside lawyers since this year, through which all employees from domestic group companies including temporary employees are able to inform matters concerning a breach of compliance. We rigorously protect the confidentiality of the informed contents as well as the informant’s personal information, and the informant will not suffer any detrimental treatment.
We invite a mobile blood donation unit to our Hiroshima plant to conduct a blood drive once or twice during the year, and employees cooperate in the blood donation campaign. The Silver Medal of Merit was awarded to us from Japanese Red Cross Society in recognition of our long-standing efforts.
At other sites, we encourage employees to go and donate blood at the nearest blood donation room.
At Hiroshima plant, we have installed the photovoltaic system on the rooftop of the office building, as an eco-friendly (ECO) plant.
The power generation condition of photovoltaic system can be checked on a monitor in the entrance hall.
